This year for all the sixth graders we went to Camp Oty Okwa. It was my first time going there. I was a little scared then after a while everyone was helping each other out. We stayed there for three days.
Day 1:
On the first day, we got there and unloaded our bags. They had bunk beds and I bunked with one of friends, Jared. After we got are stuff unloaded and went outside. We was playing around then a guy came out and said ” Come over and I put you into your groups.” I couldn’t wait to get see who was in my group. When the guy put us in the groups, I was ready to do the first class. The first class, we had to find stuff on three different maps. Then we went out into woods and we had to use a compass. The challenge was to use a compass and try to be the first one to finish. My group was the first one to finish. It took us awhile but we finished the task. After the first class we had lunch. We had cheese burgers, fries, milk and juice. When lunch was over we had are second classes.
The second class, my group got a little better at working together. I can’t remember what the second class was but my group was better at paying attention instead of talking a lot. I was starting to like outside a little better because there are more activities. When the second class was over we had free time. During free time I played basketball. Free time is a time where you get to do pretty much anything.
At the end of free time we all had dinner. We had fried chicken, mash potatoes, green beans and juice or milk. I really liked the mash potatoes. During dinner we was having good time talking to each other. We was talking about camp and saying how fun it was. After dinner we had a guy come in with snakes. He had a ball python and it was 14 feet long.
Finally at 11:00 am we finally went to bed. Before I went to bed, I just couldn’t wait until tomorrow. The first day was a blast!!!!
Day 2:
On day two Mr.McGuire woke us up with two pans. I woke up and took me a shower. I felt a little bit better. Then we went into the dining hall to have breakfast. The breakfast was good. After breakfast we had our first class. The first class was stream study. During stream study, I dropped my camera in the water. So I had Mr.Congrove fix it and he did. Then I put my disk in and I put it in the wrong way.
The next thing was lunch. We had chicken patties, cheese potatoes and something else. Then are group had our evening class. I can’t remember what it was but the point of the class was to work together with your partner. My partner was Ridge. One game we played was tank. It was hard but I won when it was my turn. Ridge didn’t really do well as being the commander but he got better at it when we got further alone playing.
After the class we had dinner. We had pizza, chips, coleslaw and juice or milk. I had 12 pieces of pizza. It was good. The only thing I couldn’t eat was the coleslaw. After our dinner we had our group skits. My group’s skit was the important paper. The important paper was toilet paper.
After our skits we had our camp fire. It was nice to get some heat because I was a little cold. Then we had to go to bed. The last day was our next day.
Day 3:
Day three, Mr.McGuire woke us up by acting like rooster. It spooked me and I almost fell off the bunk. What a day all ready. Then we had breakfast. After that we had breakfast. Then we had to do our group’s final class. I can’t even remember what it was but my group had a blast.
The sad part about going to camp was leaving and going back to the school, to unload our bags. I would say that my group got a lot better at working together. The first day everybody was all excited being there. On the second day my group got a little bit better at working together and on the third day my group did really at working together. I think we got better when we had class and you had to work together as a team.

Effort Affects Grades
I think if a student isn’t putting effort into a subject then that student have good grades. I think when someone was doing that then a teacher should grade on the student’s effort. I think this because when someone puts weak effort into something then that will effect the assignments. So they will probably have a good grade.
I think a student should get graded on Quia and Study Island because it’s a assignment. If a student isn’t putting strong effort into their assignments on Quia and Study Island then the grade would probably go down.
I’m trying to say that if someone isn’t putting effort toward their assignments then it should effect their grade. Putting strong effort into a assignment then he or she would get a better grade and if someone isn’t putting strong effort into their assignment then they have a poor grade.
I think effort reflects to someones grade.
